Affordable Rental Housing in Maryland
The Affordable/Accessible Housing Registry has been created as a tool in locating affordable and/or accessible housing throughout the state of Maryland. Developed under Grant #18-P91524 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, this registry provides listings for each of the 24 jurisdictions (counties and Baltimore City) of the State. Information has been on DHCD website and updated quarterly as static text.
This online database was created in October 2006 by ScienceComputing so it is searchable and updatable by various authorized resources. Use of this online resource is free to the public. In addition, we intend to allocate resources to actively improve the completeness and acruacy of this database.

About Section 8 Housing
Section 8, or the Housing Choice Voucher Program, is a Federal housing program which provides housing assistance to low-income renters and homeowners. This assistance comes in the form of rental subsidies. To qualify for Section 8 you must be a low-income person (below 50% of the Area Median Income).
Section 8 is a Federal program but it is administered locally by public housing authorities or other designated agencies and organizations. See this list for the public housing authorities in Maryland.
